This Herzog ballast car model was produced from an Athearn Bethgon. The bathtubs were removed and a new laser cut floor installed.

The 4 Miner ballast gates were 3D printed. There are new laser cut steel slopes on the inside of the car with metal grab irons.

Reporting marks were stenciled on the trucks and custom built solar panels installed as per the prototype. Gate door numbers on each side of the car are matched with the last 3 digits of the reporting marks. Decals were produced in house here at Protoloads.

45 Herzog models were built using both the Athearn and Walthers Bethgons. The pink granite ballast was loaded in Granite, Wyoming.
